The "new chambers" in Park Sanssouci, Potsdam was built in 1771-1775 for Frederick the Great.
The west building is shown next to Schloss Sanssouci, the counterpart to the east lie gallery.
Both buildings flank the Summer Palace.

The actual change took place mainly in the interior. It created seven guest accommodations and two ballrooms. The late Rococo style of Frederick was here once its grand climax, although the classicism has largely determined the contemporary taste.

In the background the "Historic Mill of Sanssouci" is on show.
By the legend "The miller of Sans Souci, " was the historic mill on the borders of Potsdam also identified, and associated primarily with Frederick the Great and his summer palace Sanssouci name.
The historic mill, which was already on the hill since 1736, stressed the rural idyll of the village. Friedrich was of the opinion that "... the mill of the castle was an ornament.

Die "Neuen Kammern" im Park Sanssouci, Potsdam wurden zwischen 1771 und 1775 für Friedrich den Großen erbaut.
Das westlich neben Schloss Sanssouci stehende Gebäude ist das Gegenstück zu der östlich liegenden Bildergalerie.
Beide Gebäude flankieren das Sommerschloss.

Der eigentliche Umbau fand vor allem im Innern statt. Es wurden sieben Gästequartiere und zwei Festsäle geschaffen. Der späte Stil des friderizianischen Rokoko fand hier noch einmal seinen grandiosen Höhepunkt, obwohl der Klassizismus schon weitgehend den Zeitgeschmack bestimmte.

Im Hintergrund ist die "Historische Mühle von Sanssouci" zu sehen.
Durch die Legende „Der Müller von Sanssouci“, wurde die Historische Mühle über die Grenzen Potsdams hinaus bekannt und so vor allem mit Friedrich dem Großen und seinem Sommerschloss Sanssouci in Verbindung gebracht.
Die historische Mühle, die bereits seit 1736 auf der Anhöhe stand, unterstrich die ländliche Idylle des Ortes. Friedrich war der Meinung, dass „...die Mühle dem Schloss eine Zierde sei.
