The Orthodox Church of St. Peter and Paul can’t be overlooked even by accident. It is situated in the area
mainly composed of Art Nouveau villas in the Krále Jiřího Street and its golden domes are visible from afar.
The model for the construction of this Orthodox Church was an old Russian Byzantine church near Moscow.
The Church of St. Peter and Paul is rich in decorations, which were partly sponsored by the wealthy
Karlsbad (Karlovy Vary) patients of Russian origin.
The major works of art include the relief of Russian Czar Peter the Great.

Die Russisch-orthodoxe Kirche des hl. Peter und Paul ist beim besten Willen nicht zu übersehen. Sie steht in der
König-Georg-Straße (Ulice krále Jiřího) in einem Viertel mit überwiegend Jugendstil-Villen und ihre fünf vergoldeten
Kuppeln gleißen schon aus weiter Ferne im Sonnenlicht. Der auffällige Bau ist einer altrussisch-byzantinischen
Kirche in Ostankino bei Moskau nachgebildet.
Die Kirche St. Peter und Paul zeichnet sich durch ihre üppige Verzierung aus, die zum Teil von vermögenden
Karlsbader Patienten russischer Herkunft gesponsert wurde.
Eines ihrer bedeutendsten Kunstwerke ist das Relief des russischen Zaren Peter des Großen.
