In 1931 Mucha receives the order to the creation of a glass window for the bishop's chapel of the Veitsdoms in the Prague castle. The project financed by the Slavia bank allows Mucha the conversion of a long preserved dream which decreases to his time in Paris when he planned the creation of a window for a church of the Assumptionisten in Jerusalem. The analysis of the draughts for the single windows shows that he falls back on an effective sign technology which he had applied already in 1900 with the cycle for Bosnia and Herzegovina: By clear contours he creates homogeneous surfaces which allow a play of the colours, while the model is outlined by shadings. For the boutique Fouquet he had already formed four windows with herbal motives, the conversion of the Slavic epic enables to the artist to tackle now the representation of historical scenes. Beside six middle boards which illustrate the christianisation of Bohemia devote themselves the lateral picture fields of the history of the saints Kyrill and Method, the religious apostle of the Slavic countries and inventors of the so-called Cyrillic alphabet.
