The Königssee is a long-stretched mountain lake in the Berchtesgadener country in the southeast of Bavaria and belongs to the municipality of Schönau in the Königssee.
Because the Königssee is embedded between precipitous mountain slopes, he is described as fjord-like. The large part of the lake lies in the national park Berchtesgaden.
The lake is a property of the free state Bavaria. The name presumably does not come from ‚king‘.
Against it the male given name Kuno appears in historical springs several times, and the lake was called earlier also Kunigsee.
Nevertheless, the name Bartholomäsee was even more commonly.

Excuse for my bad English!
